Flying Scotsman on the “Christmas Dalesman” from Manchester running 44 minutes early at this point. The picture was taken just south of Cumwhinton on the outskirts of Carlisle, the railtours destination.
 And now some stuff for the fans of more modern railways. Class 158 No.158 786. Passes through the now disused Cumwhinton railway station with a Leeds to Carlisle service. The station closed to passengers in 1956 and the main station building convert
 Now moving slightly east from the S&C to the Tyne Valley at Corby Gates near Wetheral. Northern Class 156 No.156 479 passes Corby Gates Signal box with a Newcastle-Carlisle service.
 And finally Class 156 No.156 486 passes through Wetheral with a Carlisle-Newcastle express.
